Mr. Chris Stockmann -- Homelink Alternative Ed/On-line Program Teacher
cstockmann@oakvilleschools.org
Hi, my name is Chris Stockmann. I have been a teacher at the secondary level in Oakville for ten years. I got my start here after substitute teaching Algebra and joining the mathematics department as an interventions teacher.
A long time ago, I moved to the Pacific Northwest from the city of St. Louis, where I grew up, in order to go to college. I come from a medium-sized family and have a medium-sized family of my own now.
I spent about a decade in college, and I have a BA and an MiT degree from Evergreen. In college I studied earth sciences and I went into teaching in order to help people understand the natural systems around weather and climate and raise awareness of the current challenges relating to atmospheric greenhouse gasses. And I hope to inspire others to go into STEM professions after high school.
Some things I currently do outside of school are: playing music, listening to music, continuing my education and focusing on a healthy lifestyle. I appreciate the chance to work in this community because of the wide-ranging diversity of people and the strong sense of teamwork I feel among my colleagues (that includes you!). Thanks for reading.
