Systems Accountability (cont.)

Engaging Lessons and Informed P-12 Instruction

Goal:  All lessons taught will be engaging for students and informed by student performance and growth data.  

Measures:   

-Quarterly strategy report on instruction and impact on data.  Specifically answering how does this Tier 1 support impact Tier 2/3 support.  

-Principals report data on where staff are in implementation/ensuring how engaging instructional practices are happening.

HS & Beyond Plan towards 3 Es for students 8-12 grade

Goal:  All students 8-12 grade will develop a HS and Beyond Plan that has a goal of one of the 3 Es (Enrolled in College, Enlisted in the Military, or Employed in a job).  

Measure:

-A summary of Each Senior and what their E is and a tracking tool is developed to monitor graduates for subsequent years.

Attendance 

Goal:  Attendance will maintain an average of 95% daily.   

Measures: 

-Improved Office procedures, Clean Up data -Regular staff presentations on procedures and data.

Balanced Calendar

Goal:  The district will have successful implementation of the Balanced Calendar 

Measures: 

-Improved Attendance analysis.

-Improved Staff Attendance.

-Student/Parent Survey & Feedback.

-Attendance at Intersession.

-Measure of students who show up for Intersession vs. those who do not on Attendance, Grades, and Assessments.

Communication/Community Involvement

Goal 1:  The district will improve gaining communication and feedback from parents, students, and community.  

Measures:  

-Create groups for systems of providing information (focus groups) 

-Identify internal and external communication needs for stakeholders and implement systems to eliminate the communication gaps that are identified.

Goal 2:  The district will increase opportunities for parents and the community be informed and available to assist in school operations.

Measures: 

-Communicate Volunteer opportunities and clarify roles to the community.  

-Regular schedule of community information dissemination from the District (Athletics, Classroom, & District level communication).

Discipline 

Goal:  The district has clear and consistent disciplinary procedures.  

Measures: 

-Overview of disciplinary actions and practices are occurring and reported to the board.   

-Look at trend data and communicate trends to the board (nature, race, types, other demographics  etc.) will be reported to the board.

Emergency Planning

Goal:  The district will have more coordination with local services to develop a response plan for emergency responses (Connect board and district, students with agencies).

Measures: 

-Increased communication to help students and parents know the response plan for different contingencies and student preparedness (developmentally appropriate).

-Reporting on drills that occur between the district and supporting agencies.

Operations

Celebrating cultural education emphasis

Goal:  The district will increase its promotion of cultural celebration and equity in our schools.  

Measures: 

-3 times per year the board will hear from someone (students/adults) who has cultural expertise.

-Find ways to create more cultural partnerships. 

-Increase our documents in a second language (Spanish).

Community Service/Connecting with Community Service

Goal:  The district will increase opportunities for students to participate in community service.  

Measures: 

-Communicating Community Service Plan to community and develop our internal systems and increase local community opportunities.

-Regular updates to the board on student community service progress.

-Highlight students who complete community service (FB, Graduation, Assemblies, etc.).

Student Representatives on the board

Goal: The board will have a process in place for selecting 1-2 students to participate in Board Activities as student representatives to the board.  

Measure: 

-Select a representative (or two) and build their skills as a voice and liaison.

School Pride

Goal: The district will be intentional about messaging and encouraging students and the community to have pride in their school. 

Measures: 

-Increase student ownership over their social experience in the school and create more traditions.

-Monthly recognition by board of students who show leadership in areas around school pride.

Parking Lot 

Goal:  The District will develop a plan to address the safety concerns with the drop/off pick-up lots around the elementary school.  

Measures: 

-Establish a plan to mitigate Primary student and staff parking.
